Roma are reportedly edging closer to sealing a deal for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham following a breakthrough in talks.
In a transfer merry-go-round, Chelsea have re-signed Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan for a club-record fee of £97.5m, and the Serie A champions are expected to move for Roma's Edin Dzeko as a replacement.
In turn, Roma are thought to be eyeing a swoop for out-of-favour Chelsea forward Abraham, who is also thought to be on the radar of Arsenal and West Ham United.
According to La Repubblica, a fee of £34m has already been agreed with the Blues, and progress has been made on the personal side of a deal following a phone call to the player from Jose Mourinho.
Roma are supposedly prepared to bump up Abraham's salary to £5m a year in order to fend off interest from Arsenal, but the report adds that Abraham would still prefer a move to the Emirates.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has affirmed that he has a "good relationship" with Abraham amid widespread transfer speculation, and the 23-year-old is in the Blues' squad for Saturday's Premier League opener with Crystal Palace.
