Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that the club are in talks with defender Bacary Sagna about extending his contact.
The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to Inter Milan after he criticised the club's transfer methods in the summer, and was left out of the North Londoners' 2013 team calendar.
The Frenchman's current deal with the Gunners expires at the end of next season, but Wenger is keen to tie the right-back down at the Emirates Stadium.
"We are in talks at the moment [with Sagna]," said Wenger.
"We are hopeful. He had some big injury issues but, with him and Carl Jenkinson, you need two players and we want to keep them."
Arsenal face Everton at Goodison Park on Wednesday night in the Premier League.
