Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna believes that the right signings can help the club challenge for the Premier League title next season.
The Gunners have been locked in negotiations to sign Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain all summer and have also had a £30m bid rejected for Liverpool forward Luis Suarez.
Manager Arsene Wenger has also been linked with a move for Manchester United's Wayne Rooney, and Sagna reckons that the club can maintain a sustained push for the Premier League if they get the right deals done.
"I believe that we can challenge for the title with a couple of good signings," The Express quotes him as saying.
"We beat great teams last year, we managed to be one of the best teams in the second half of the season and if we can be consistent for the whole season, I believe we can be successful.
"If I had the solution as to what went wrong last season, I would have given it."
Arsenal finished fourth in the Premier League last season.
