Nuri Sahin has said that he does not know where his long-term future lies as he looks to make his Liverpool debut.
The Turkish midfielder moved to Anfield on a season-long loan from Real Madrid, following a unsuccessful start to his career in Spain.
Liverpool are believed to have first option on Sahin should the loan spell go well, although Arsenal are still keen on the 23-year-old.
"If I said now I wanted to stay here that wouldn't be fair on Real Madrid, if I said I wanted to leave here next summer that wouldn't be fair on Liverpool," said Sahin.
"I can't promise anything as you never know what will happen in football. When I arrived at Madrid I signed for six years and I thought I would stay there for all that time.
"After this season we will take the best decision for my career."
Sahin is reportedly fully fit and hoping to make his debut against Arsenal on Sunday.
