Former Middlesbrough, Liverpool and Rangers midfielder Graeme Souness has said that Arsenal are "risking a great deal" by not signing another striker.
Olivier Giroud has scored seven league goals this season, with midfielder Aaron Ramsey chipping in with a further eight, but Souness believes that manager Arsene Wenger needs to sign another "expert goalscorer".
"Arsenal's manager needs to find someone else, either a similar type to Giroud or an expert goalscorer," Souness wrote in his column for The Times.
"You can't go through a Premier League season with only one top No 9; you are risking a great deal by relying on such a strategy.
"I know Nicklas Bendtner played and scored against Hull in midweek but Arsenal can't rely on him as a convincing alternative to Giroud."
Arsenal can extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to seven points with victory at home to Everton this afternoon.
