Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly decided to join the race to sign Porto midfielder Hector Herrera.
The Mexico international has spent the last five-and-a-half years with the Portuguese giants, but the 28-year-old has less than six months remaining on his contract.
Foreign clubs are now able to discuss a free transfer in the summer, and Arsenal, Inter Milan and AC Milan have already been linked with a move for the player.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Spurs are the latest club to begin to consider an approach for Herrera as they contemplate their options in the transfer market.
Spurs have just parted ways with long-serving midfielder Mousa Dembele, and Herrera could be seen as a possible replacement for the Belgian who has moved to the Chinese Super League.
