Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona duo Clement Lenglet and Franck Kessie.
Since the arrival of new head coach Ange Postecoglou, the North Londoners have enjoyed a productive summer, converting two loans into permanent stays and acquiring three fresh faces.
However, despite the additions, Spurs are yet to make any changes to their backline with Davinson Sanchez yet to complete a transfer elsewhere.
Furthermore, re-signing Lenglet after a loan spell at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has not progressed as anticipated, the left-sided centre-back still back at his parent club.
Nevertheless, reports in Spain indicate that Spurs are yet to give up on signing the France international on a permanent basis.
Barcelona are allegedly yet to receive a proposal that is to their liking, leaving discussions at somewhat of an impasse with Spurs potentially waiting until they have cashed in on Sanchez.
While the Catalan giants will eventually sell Lenglet to ease their financial situation, they are in a position where they need to maximise what they receive.
The same report says that Spurs also hold an interest in signing Kessie before the end of August, with the Ivorian's future currently up in the air.
Although it has been frequently stated that Kessie would prefer to remain at Camp Nou, Barcelona are open to offers having signed him from AC Milan on a free transfer just a year ago.
Kessie made only seven starts in La Liga during 2022-23, with a further 21 outings coming from the substitutes' bench but highlighted his status under Xavi.
Despite being selected in Barcelona's squad for Saturday's friendly with Real Madrid, the 26-year-old remained as an unused substitute, as did Lenglet.
If Kessie was to leave Barcelona this summer, it has been suggested that the Premier League is his preferred destination, something which can only aid Spurs' efforts.
Nevertheless, it is alleged that Arsenal, who can offer Champions League football, are also monitoring the situation, with Juventus outsiders for his services. body check tags ::
