Sunderland are reportedly considering a bid to sign Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson on a season-long loan.
The England international spent last term at West Ham United and the Irons have been linked with a move to take the 23-year-old to Upton Park for another campaign.
However, The Telegraph claims that the Black Cats are willing to pay a loan fee of £2m to the Gunners in order to secure his services.
It is thought that Sunderland's offer may be too good for Arsenal to refuse, but manager Arsene Wenger is unwilling to sell Jenkinson on a permanent basis, believing that the full-back still has a future at the Emirates Stadium.
