Tottenham Hotspur have reignited their interest in Alvaro Morata, according to a report.

The Spaniard has spent the past two seasons back on loan at Juventus from Atletico Madrid but has seen his future called into question following the arrival of Dusan Vlahovic.

Massimiliano Allegri's side do possess the option to sign Morata permanently from Atletico, where he is only under contract for another 12 months.

Juventus have not triggered that clause, though, and recent reports have claimed that the Serie A giants have now decided against keeping Morata on the books for the long-term.

The 29-year-old could therefore be set for a change of scene in the summer months, and he has been strongly linked with the likes of Newcastle United and Arsenal.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Tottenham have also registered their interest in Morata, who worked under current Lilywhites boss Antonio Conte during their stints at Chelsea.

The report claims that Juve have decided against triggering the Spain international's £30m buy option after already forking out £17m over the duration of his loan spells.

Juventus are still said to harbour aspirations of keeping Morata if a different kind of deal can be struck, and Moise Kean could be used as a makeweight in one scenario.

The former Chelsea man recently claimed that he was not short of offers ahead of the summer, telling journalist Matteo Moretto: "I have quite a few options. It's not up to me. The good thing is that there are several teams.

"I would like to be where they love me the most and value me. In the last two places I've been I've been very happy because there are wonderful people."

Morata registered 12 goals and nine assists in 48 matches for Juventus during the 2021-22 campaign, taking his total for the club to 59 strikes and 39 assists in 185 appearances over two separate spells.

The ex-Real Madrid forward has 22 goals in 61 games to boast for Atletico, while his time at Chelsea under Conte saw him register 11 goals and six assists in 31 Premier League outings in 2017-18.

Tottenham are expected to be in the market for a new striker to provide backup and competition to Harry Kane, who is expected to stay at the club so long as Conte remains in charge.

Spurs have allegedly been offered the chance to sign Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus, who is also on the radar of Arsenal. body check tags ::
