Arsenal manager Unai Emery has dismissed speculation regarding a move for Chelsea defender Gary Cahill.
The Gunners are expected to be in the market for a new centre-back during the January window due to their poor defensive record and a long-term injury to Rob Holding.
Cahill is only regarded as fourth choice at Stamford Bridge and has just six months remaining on his contract, but it appears that a switch to North London is unlikely at this stage.
At a press conference, Emery told reporters: "It's not easy, improving our team in the transfer market, but the club is working, watching different possibilities. Maybe we can sign one or two players."
When pushed on Cahill, the Spaniard added: "We didn't speak about him."
Arsenal have already conceded 31 goals from 21 outings in the Premier League this season.
