Real Sociedad boss Philippe Montanier has revealed that Carlos Vela is likely to join the club on a permanent basis "next week".
The Mexican international spent the whole of last season on loan with Sociedad after he failed to establish himself at Arsenal.
The Gunners are believed to be willing to sell the 23-year-old, with Sociedad extremely interested.
"The president is optimistic because I want a quick solution," said Montanier. "I expect that Carlos will arrive in this next week."
Vela scored 12 goals for Sociedad last season.
