Arsene Wenger has revealed that he will only strengthen Arsenal in the remaining days of the transfer window if an "exceptional" talent is available.
Despite being linked with a host of players throughout the summer, goalkeeper Petr Cech has been the only arrival at the Emirates Stadium.
Although the Frenchman is "open" to signings before the window shuts on Tuesday, the 65-year-old insists that he will not buy for the sake of it.
Speaking to Arsenal's official website after the 1-0 win at Newcastle United, he said: "We are open and we are in the transfer market.
"If we find an exceptional player in any sector, we will do it. At the moment I don't know if something will happen or not."
Fabricio Coloccini's own goal was enough to give the Gunners their second win of the Premier League season.
