Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that he will not renew his interest in Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye in January.
The France international was heavily linked with a move to the Gunners during the summer, with the Magpies believed to have knocked back a £12m bid from the North London outfit.
However, with the January transfer window looming large, Wenger claims that he is satisfied with his midfield personnel and rules out another bid for Cabaye.
He told the club's official website: "No, we don't look for midfielders because today we didn't have Ozil or Ramsey who stayed at home and we had still three good midfielders and I still had Arteta on the bench so there is no real need in there."
Wenger's men returned to the summit of the Premier League table with a 1-0 victory over Newcastle at St James's Park, with Olivier Giroud's second-half header enough for Arsenal to end the calendar year top of the pile.
