AS Monaco have decided to leave Paris Saint-Germain target Kylian Mbappe out of their squad for Friday's Ligue 1 clash with Metz.
Mbappe played a key role in the Ligue 1 champions' march towards the title last season, while also proving himself against Europe's elite during the latter stages of the Champions League.
The 18-year-old's stock has risen remarkably over the summer, leading to interest from both PSG and Real Madrid, meaning that Monaco's decision to leave the Frenchman out against Metz could now raise questions regarding Mbappe's future at the club.
Mbappe was left out of Monaco's 4-1 win over Djon last weekend, in a move that AS boss Leonardo Jardim described as a way of "protecting" the youngster.
Mbappe has scored 16 goals in 41 appearances for Les Monegasques.
