New England manager Roy Hodgson could have Darren Bent at his disposal for this summer's Euro 2012 campaign.
The Aston Villa striker has been sidelined since February with an ankle ligament injury that he suffered during a match against Wigan Athletic.
He will not feature for the Villains against this season but boss Alex McLeish believes that the 28-year-old has "a chance" of being available for the Three Lions.
"I don't believe there is a chance of him playing for Villa again this season," McLeish told reporters. "The doc thinks he's got a chance for the Euros though."
Bent has scored four goals from 13 appearances for England.
