Marc Albrighton has admitted that he is "very happy" to have netted the Premier League's 20,000th goal despite losing to Arsenal last night.
The winger added his name to league history by scoring a milestone goal in Villa's 2-1 defeat to the Gunners.
The 22-year-old has decided to give the £20,000 donation from the Football Association to the Acorns Children's Hospice.
"It was desperately disappointing for us not to have won that game let alone draw it," Albrighton told talkSPORT. "We've come away with nothing after we thought we deserved to win the game. But [scoring the 20,000th goal] has made some children and people very happy tonight and I'm really pleased for them.
"Seven of us went [to the Acorns Children's Hospice] to see what goes on there, we go every year and it's brilliant what people are doing there, it's fantastic and it puts life into perspective. To raise £20,000 for such a great cause is brilliant and will make me happy tonight.
"It's something to tell the kids and the grandkids. It is a massive thing; the Premier League is one of the greatest leagues in the world, if not the greatest, so to score the 20,000th goal is definitely special to me."
Albrighton has now scored seven goals for the Villains since 2009.
