Aston Villa striker Darren Bent has said that his injury problems pale in significance compared to Stiliyan Petrov's fight for life.
The 28-year-old is likely to miss the upcoming Euro 2012 championships after suffering ruptured ankle ligaments.
However, Bent has said that Petrov's diagnosis of acute leukaemia, and Fabrice Muamba's heart problems, put his troubles into perspective.
"It certainly puts everything into perspective for me," Bent told The Sun. "I'm sitting here worrying if I'm going to be back playing again in eight weeks time while Stan and Fabrice are fighting for their lives.
"How can I get all beat up about my problems when those guys are fighting tooth and nail to survive?
"That's why I'm praying every day they are on the mend again very soon."
Bent injured himself during Villa's goalless draw against Wigan Athletic in February.
