Aston Villa midfielder Birkir Bjarnason has said that he was "not happy at all" after remaining on the bench for the Championship playoff final.
On Saturday evening, Villa missed out on promotion to the Premier League after losing to 1-0 to Fulham, with Bjarnason one of four substitutes not used by Steve Bruce.
Bjarnason has suggested that the snub will not lead to an exit from the West Midlands outfit, but the Iceland international has admitted that he had been left 'hugely frustrated'.
The 30-year-old is quoted by the Birmingham Mail as saying: "This was hugely frustrating; it was especially frustrating not to play and try to do something about it. That's just how we have to go on.
"I'm not happy at all, but it went as it went. I have two years left of my contract at Villa and am very happy there. I'm happy with the club."
Bjarnason made 29 appearances in all competitions this season.
