Winger Yannick Bolasie has suggested that he has joined Aston Villa on a season-long loan deal to 'regain his smile'.
Bolasie has dropped down the pecking order at Everton since the arrival of Marco Silva, and the DR Congo international failed to secure a summer switch to a fellow Premier League club.
However, Villa made their move for the 29-year-old, and the attacker has revealed that he is delighted to link up with the Championship side.
Bolasie told the club's official website: "My main aim here is to get this club promoted. A club of this stature has to be in the Premier League.
"I looked around both Villa Park and the training ground, and me and my family just said, 'wow'. It's Premier League everywhere you look.
"I'm here to make myself smile again and use all my ability to try and help the team. It's great to be here."
Bolasie could make his debut when Villa face Burton Albion in the EFL Cup next week.
