Aston Villa coach Paul Lambert has suggested that reports of Roy Keane turning up at Tom Cleverley's house this week have not been portrayed properly.
It has been reported that Keane went to the player's house following his departure from the club, with some sections of the press believing that a fall-out with a group of senior players was behind his exit from Villa Park.
"I spoke to Tom this morning really briefly and he assures me that what is being portrayed is certainly not what happened. That was it, really," said Lambert, according to BBC Sport.
"I've probably spoken about Roy more since he's left than when he was here. I think you [should] give the guy a break. From the brief chat I had with Tom, it certainly wasn't how it was portrayed."
Villa currently hold 13th position in the Premier League table on 19 points.
