Newly-appointed Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood has admitted that he is looking forward to the challenge of leading the club away from the relegation zone.
Sherwood joins Villa with the club currently sitting 18th in the Premier League table, but, after penning a three-and-a-half year deal, the former Tottenham Hotspur head coach has revealed that he considers it "a great honour" to have been handed the job.
The 46-year-old told the club's official website: "It is a great honour to manage one of the biggest clubs in English football.
"I can't wait to get started and I'm really looking forward to the challenge."
Sherwood will watch from the stands when Villa face Leicester City in the FA Cup fifth round on Sunday afternoon.
