Scott Sinclair has claimed that the signing of Adama Traore is proof that the future is bright for Aston Villa.
Traore arrived from Barcelona for an initial £7m last week, and Sinclair believes that the club deserve credit for the ambition they have shown in the transfer market this summer.
"To sign a player from Barcelona just shows the club is moving forward," the winger, who joined Villa on a permanent basis earlier in the window, is quoted as saying by the Birmingham Mail. "I'm sure Adama had many other options to go elsewhere.
"But it's great for Aston Villa Football Club that we can attract and sign that quality of player."
A lack of match fitness is likely to keep Traore out of the squad when Villa make the trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
