Aston Villa have cancelled their end-of-season Player of the Year awards due to supporter unrest.
The Birmingham-based outfit are all but relegated from the Premier League as they are 15 points from safety with only five matches of the season remaining.
Villa have lost their last eight matches and the team has often been jeered during recent games.
Sky Sports News quotes a club spokesman as saying: "The club will not be holding its annual Player of the Year awards at the conclusion of this season. In the current circumstances, we are sure our supporters will understand."
Villa will drop down to the second tier of English football for the first time in 28 years this weekend unless they beat Manchester United at Old Trafford and Norwich City lose at home to Sunderland.
