Aston Villa are reportedly targeting a deal for Bristol City defender Adam Webster as they gear up for their first season back in the Premier League.
Dean Smith's side have already spent more than £30m in the transfer market over the last few weeks, including a club-record £22m for Brazilian defender Wesley Moraes, and thet are now turning their attentions to defensive reinforcements for the new campaign.
According to The Sun, Villa have begun talks with Championship outfit Bristol over a move for centre-back Webster, who is available for around £12m.
The 28-year-old only joined Lee Johnson's side last summer, in a deal thought to be worth £3.5m, and featured 44 times as part of one of the division's most solid defences.
Villa are also said to be in discussions with Bournemouth about a permanent deal for Tyrone Mings following the defender's successful loan spell at Villa Park in the second half of last season.
