Premier League outfits Aston Villa and Norwich City have reportedly set their sights on signing AFC Wimbledon goalkeeper Matthew Cox.
The 18-year-old is yet to make his first-team debut for the League One side but did feature on the bench for 17 games during the 2020-21 campaign.
Cox represented England at Under-17 level in February 2020 before signing his first professional deal at Plough Lane last summer, but he could now embark on a journey into the top flight.
Football Insider reports that Villa and the Canaries are showing interest in the youngster, who would be sure to be a long-term investment with many years of his career ahead of him.
Norwich have already signed a new keeper this summer with the return of Angus Gunn, whereas Villa are on the brink of losing a keeper in their ranks as Tom Heaton is set for a move to Manchester United.
Thirty-three-year-old Tim Krul and 28-year-old Emiliano Martinez are the current number ones at their respective clubs.
