Aston Villa have reportedly sent scouts to watch Besiktas midfielder Dorukhan Tokoz with a view to a potential move.
Dean Smith's side had staff in attendance for the Turkish side's game with regional rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Europa League last week, a game which saw Tokoz play 79 minutes before being substituted.
According to Turkish outlet Aksam, French side Lyon also had scouts at Molineux to watch the 23-year-old, who has five caps for the Turkey national team.
A combative midfielder, Tokoz has made 31 appearances for the Black Eagles in all competitions since joining them from Eskisehirspor in July 2018.
However, any potential deal Villa want to conduct for the midfielder could be shelved after he ruptured knee cartilage in the club's 2-0 win against Antalyaspor at the weekend, an injury which is expected to rule him out until February of next year.
