Aston Villa midfielder Stephen Ireland will reportedly sit down with manager Paul Lambert this week to discuss his future at the club.
The former Manchester City player is believed to have grown confused with reports linking the Irishman with a switch away from Villa Park.
It is understood that the Midlands club are willing to let go of the 25-year-old but Ireland is seeking a meeting with Lambert to try to make sense of the situation, according to Setanta Sports.
Ireland moved to Villa in 2010 but has since struggled to secure a regular spot in the starting lineup.
