Aston Villa defender James Chester could be on the verge of a move to Major League Soccer, according to a report.
The Welsh international has struggled for minutes this season at Villa Park, failing to get any action in the Premier League and featuring just twice for Dean Smith's side in cup competitions.
Chester, who joined the West Midlands club in 2016, has fallen behind Tyrone Mings, Kourtney Hause, Ezri Konsa and Bjorn Engels in the pecking order this season.
According to The Sun, the central defender is keen to pursue a move in order to get regular minutes and he is interested in moving across the pond.
While the report states that there is interest from several clubs in the MLS, they are reportedly in no rush to secure his signature as the new season does not begin until the end of February.
It is also believed that Villa will not be prepared to let the former Hull city man leave cheaply and that they will pursue a replacement should he choose to depart.
