Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has admitted that a lot of work needs to be done to fix his side's problems and is hopeful of signing players before the end of the summer transfer window.
Villa have lost both their games in the Premier League so far, going down 1-0 at West Ham United in their opening match and then 3-1 to Everton at home on Saturday.
"There's no magic wand," admitted Lambert. "That's why I never got caught up in the euphoria of it because I know what it's like.
"It's not a quick fix, I know that myself, but it's something where you don't want to be left behind, you want to try and win as many games as you can.
"We have to start to win – that's first and foremost, whether you have the players or not. The chairman [Randy Lerner] and [chief executive] Paul [Faulkner] and myself will have a conversation and we'll see what happens."
Villa will host Tranmere Rovers in the League Cup second round on Tuesday.
