Former Arsenal man Nicklas Bendtner is ready to sign for Aston Villa on a free transfer, reports suggest.
Bendtner, who was released by the Gunners when his contract expired, could sign up at Villa Park as early as this week, according to Danish paper BT.
The Midlands club are reportedly deep in negotiations with Bendtner's agent Tom Brookes, though both the club and the player needed to reach a compromise on wages.
Eintracht Frankfurt are said to be waiting in the wings for the Danish international should the deal fall through.
Bendtner was loaned out three times during his Arsenal career, appearing for both Birmingham City and Sunderland, as well as Juventus.
