Swansea City manager Garry Monk has reportedly made Aston Villa full-back Matthew Lowton one of his primary January transfer targets.
The 25-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Villa Park in recent months, with manager Paul Lambert having recalled Alan Hutton from the wilderness to play in the right-back position.
Lambert is keen to keep hold of Lowton, but Monk will test the Scot's resolve by submitting a £3m bid at the turn of the year, according to The People.
Lowton, who is thought to have been the subject of a recent failed loan bid from Middlesbrough, joined Villa from Sheffield United back in 2012.
