Aston Villa have reportedly joined the race to sign Angers midfielder Baptiste Santamaria during the January transfer window.
After a poor run of form in the Premier League, manager Dean Smith is considering his options with regards to strengthening his squad.
According to L'Equipe, Santamaria has emerged as a potential addition having impressed for Angers in France's top flight.
The defensive-minded player has been an ever-present in Ligue 1 this season, contributing one goal and one assist from his 19 starts.
West Ham United and Newcastle United are also said to be monitoring the situation, although it may take a significant offer to convince Angers into a sale with Santamaria still having two-and-a-half years left on his contract.
