Aston Villa have reportedly held discussions regarding a potential deal for Juventus goalkeeper Mattia Perin.
Since guiding the club to promotion to the Premier League, manager Dean Smith has already spent in excess of £100m in the transfer market.
The latest arrival is that of winger Trezeguet, who was confirmed as a Villa player on Wednesday, but it appears that the West Midlands outfit still intend on signing a new goalkeeper.
According to Sky In Italy, Perin has emerged as an option for Villa having fallen down the pecking order at the Serie A champions.
The return of Gianluigi Buffon means that the 26-year-old is now only regarded as third choice by newly-appointed head coach Maurizio Sarri.
The Italian made just nine outings for Juventus during the most recent campaign.
