Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of Ingolstadt goalkeeper Orjan Nyland for an undisclosed fee.
The 27-year-old made 33 appearances in 2. Bundesliga last term after the German side were relegated in the season before.
The Norway international will face competition for the number one shirt from fellow arrival Andre Moreira, who joined Villa on loan from Atletico Madrid this summer.
"I'm looking forward to playing for this big club and can't wait to get started," Nyland told the club's official website. "Everything has moved very quickly and I'm really happy to be here and call myself a Villa player.
"This club belongs in the Premier League and I'm keen to play a part in getting us back there."
Nyland will have the opportunity to start for his new club when they face Wigan Athletic at Villa Park in the Championship on Saturday.
