Aston Villa have moved to try to extend the contract of striker Andreas Weimann, according to a report.
The 21-year-old has scored nine goals for Villa this season and with 18 months remaining on his current deal, the West Midlands side want to secure the Austrian forward to a long-term contract, according to PA Sport.
Manager Paul Lambert told reporters: "The way Andreas conducts himself on the pitch and in training is excellent.
"He has been really on top of his game and taken his chance in the first team."
Weimann was unable to prevent Villa falling to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Millwall on Friday night.
