Athletic Bilbao boss Marcelo Bielsa labels his side's season a "negative one" following the 1-0 defeat to Malaga.

Athletic Bilbao boss Marcelo Bielsa has admitted that his side's season has been "negative".

The Basque outfit were beaten 1-0 by Malaga on Friday evening, leaving them in 15th place with 26 points.

"We did not start the game well," the 57-year-old told reporters after the game.

"They scored an early goal, but from the end of the first half to the end of the game we had chances.

"Our campaign has been a negative one, but we can explain all the losses. I'd rather not talk about it."

Athletic Club have won just one of their seven games since the turn of the year.
