Atletico Madrid announce that goalkeeper Axel Werner will spend the next campaign on loan at La Liga newcomers Huesca.

Huesca have completed the season-long loan signing of Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Axel Werner.

The 22-year-old spent the last campaign acting as deputy to Jan Oblak, with two outings being made in the Europa League and one appearance coming in La Liga.

However, Atletico have already brought in Antonio Adan from Real Betis this summer and it has resulted in Werner being allowed to link up with Huesca.

The minnows are preparing for their first-ever year in Spain's top flight after earning promotion through finishing as runners-up in the second tier.

Werner is expected to be first choice at El Alcoraz before returning to Atletico, where the Argentine still has three years remaining on his contract.
