River Plate midfielder Matias Kranevitter is reportedly closing in on a move to Atletico Madrid.
The 22-year-old has emerged as a key player for the Argentine club and he helped them to win the Copa Libertadores earlier this month.
He has since been strongly linked with a move to Europe, and according to AS, he is expected in Madrid this week to complete an €8m (£5.65m) transfer to Atletico on a four-year deal.
However, Kranevitter will not move to the club until River have competed in the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan this December.
Kranevitter has played for Argentina at Under-20 level, but he has not been called up to the senior squad.
