Saul Niguez has signed a new long-term contract with Atletico Madrid, committing his future to the Spanish club until the summer of 2026.
The 22-year-old, who has been linked with a move to Barcelona in recent weeks, scored five times for Spain Under-21s as La Roja reached the final of the Under-21 European Championships in Poland this summer.
Saul has been at Atletico since 2008, and the midfielder is now committed to the capital outfit for the next nine years.
"I am very happy because at Atleti we are a family and there is no better place to be," Saul told Atletico's official website.
"I will work my full potential on the field as always to pay back the trust that the club is giving to me. I'd like to thank all my teammates and the coaching staff for their help day by day so that I can be the player I am today."
Saul has scored 22 times in 136 appearances for Atletico over the last three seasons.
