Burnley striker Ashley Barnes has been linked with a shock call-up to the Austria national team.
The Bath-born forward is eligible to represent the country through his grandparentage, but has not been involved in their international setup at any level for more than a decade.
Barnes, who has scored four goals in 27 Premier League appearances for the Clarets this season, won a cap for the Austria Under-20s side 11 years ago.
According to Austria Press Agency, Austria manager Franco Foda is considering calling the 28-year-old up for the senior squad.
Austria will not feature at this summer's World Cup finals in Russia, having finished fourth in qualifying Group D.
