Stenhousemuir could not take advantage of Rangers losing points, as they succumbed to a 1-0 loss at Stranraer.
Ayr United beat Arbroath 2-0 and went above Dunfermline Athletic on goal difference, as the Pars conceded two late goals in a 2-1 loss at home to East Fife.
Elsewhere, a goal either side of half time saw Forfar Athletic leave Airdrieonians with all three points.
