Barcelona ace Andres Iniesta has expressed his gratitude to Louis van Gaal for giving him his debut at Camp Nou.
The 30-year-old rose to prominence under the Dutchman's brief tenure in Catalunya, making his bow at the age of 17 against Recreativo back in 2002.
"My debut with the team, it was the most important day of my life," he told BeIn Sports. "A dream come true. These are very good memories.
"I was nervous but also very grateful to Van Gaal and all the coaches I've had before."
The Spain international has since gone on to earn legendary status with the Catalans, helping them to six La Liga crowns and three Champions League titles.
