The agent of Luciano Vietto has claimed that Barcelona are among the clubs interested in signing the Atletico Madrid striker in this summer's transfer window.

The Argentine forward earned himself a move to Atletico last summer after hitting 20 goals in 48 appearances during an impressive first season in Spanish football with Villarreal.

Vietto only managed three goals for the capital club during the 2015-16 season, however, and it is understood that Atletico would be open to a sale this summer.

According to the 22-year-old's agent Jorge Cyterszpiller, there are "15 clubs" that want to sign Vietto this summer and Spanish champions Barcelona are in the running.

"There are about 15 clubs interested in him: Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla, Villarreal, Milan, Inter, Roma, Lazio... I spoke with Lazio and they are a great club, but the competition is high," Cyterszpiler told reporters.

Barcelona are said to be in the market for a new striker this summer as back-up to Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.
