Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has revealed that his club are in talks with Atletico Madrid over a move for Antoine Griezmann in this summer's transfer window.
Griezmann has been strongly linked with a move to the Spanish champions since announcing that he would be leaving Atletico ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.
Bartomeu has confirmed that Barca CEO Oscar Grau and Atletico CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marin met on Thursday to discuss a deal for the France international, with the Catalan outfit's president being quoted by Marca as telling reporters that "first contact" had been made.
The attacker's release clause dropped to £107m at the start of July and it has been alleged that Barca will meet that price.
Manchester United and Real Madrid have both been credited with potential late swoops, but it seems that the Spanish champions are in the driving seat to land the 2018 World Cup winner.
Griezmann has scored 133 times in 257 appearances for Atletico since joining the capital giants from Real Sociedad in the summer of 2014.
