Barcelona have reportedly identified Los Angeles FC forward Carlos Vela as a potential January signing.
Ernesto Valverde's side currently sit five points clear at the top of the La Liga standings, but there remains a desire to add a new striker to the club's first-team squad.
Chelsea duo Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata have both been linked with a switch to Camp Nou but according to Marca, the Catalan giants are considering an approach for Vela.
The 29-year-old now plays for Los Angeles FC in the MLS, but the Mexico international has previously spent a successful period with Real Sociedad where he netted 69 goals from 235 appearances in all competitions.
The report suggests that Barcelona are continuing to weigh up their options, but Vela is near the top of their shortlist.
