Barcelona have reportedly been given permission to register Gavi as a first-team player after a judge ruled in their favour.
Gavi joined Barcelona's academy at the age of 11, and he has progressed through their youth system to become one of the key figures in the first team.
Since making his senior debut for the club in August 2021, Gavi has gone on to make 75 appearances, registering three goals and 11 assists.
The Spain international signed a new four-year contract with Barcelona in September, but they were unable to register the deal due to La Liga's salary limits.
The financial situation has prevented Gavi from being registered as a first-team player, although he has still been eligible to play for the Catalan giants.
However, Barcelona went to court last Friday in an attempt to find a legal loophole, and they have reportedly been successful.
According to La Vanguardia, a judge in Barcelona's commercial court has ruled that La Liga should register Gavi's contract.
Despite the positive ruling, the situation could be far from resolved, as La Liga have the right to appeal the decision.
Barcelona are also facing similar issues with Ronald Araujo's new contract, which was signed last April.
Araujo is signed up as a first-team player, but Barcelona have been unable to register his new deal with the league.
