Valencia forward Maxi Gomez has emerged as a transfer target for Barcelona.
The 25-year-old joined Valencia from Celta Vigo in July 2019 and has featured on 81 occasions for Los Che in all competitions, contributing 18 goals and 10 assists in the process.
This term, Gomez, who has a contract at Mestalla until the summer of 2024, has scored once and provided one assist in seven La Liga outings.
Barcelona are expected to move for a low-cost centre-forward in January, with the club's CEO Ferran Reverter revealing that there are funds to spend at the start of 2022.
According to Sport, the Catalan giants view Gomez as a potential acquisition, with the Uruguay international likely to be available due to Valencia's financial problems.
The centre-forward scored 31 times in 75 appearances for Celta before moving to Mestalla, while he has a record of 48 goals in 142 La Liga outings since arriving in Spanish football.
