Barcelona are reportedly looking to re-sign former defender Dani Alves, who is currently a free agent.

Barcelona are reportedly attempting to re-sign Dani Alves on a free transfer, over five years since his departure from Camp Nou.

After winning 23 trophies during an eight-year spell, the Brazilian left Barcelona for Juventus during 2016, since going on to represent Paris Saint-Germain and Sao Paulo.

However, with the 38-year-old currently a free agent, speculation persists that the veteran will eventually return to the Catalan giants.

According to journalist Nicola Schira, discussions have already taken place between the relevant parties regarding a short-term deal.

The move appears more likely to happen now that Xavi, a former teammate of Alves, has been appointed as the club's new manager.

Barcelona allegedly value the experience and leadership that Alves could provide while working with the team's younger players. body check tags ::
