Barcelona are reportedly considering a potential summer move for Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez.

Coach Pep Guardiola has identified the 23-year-old as the ideal replacement for Seydou Keita, who is expected to leave the Nou Camp at the end of the season.

However, Bilbao are believed to want £33m for the Spanish international, who has a contract with the club until 2016, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Initial reports have claimed that Barca would not be able to afford such a figure.

Martinez has made over 150 league appearances for Bilbao since joining from Osasuna in 2006.
