Barcelona are reportedly tracking Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Kai Havertz with a view to a future move.
Ernesto Valverde's side are sending scouts to the German club's game with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday to get a first-hand look at the 20-year-old in action.
ESPN reports that the Catalan giants have been keeping tabs on Havertz for more than four years, dating back to when he was in the Leverkusen youth team.
While the German would cost Barcelona at least €80m (£68.7m), they are thought to be prepared to pay that, as they believe that he still has considerable room to develop and improve.
It is unclear, however, how the deal would fit into the Spanish side's ongoing financial issues, which are likely to force them to sell at least one star midfielder in the January transfer window.
After making his professional debut in 2016, Havertz has scored 31 goals in 118 appearances for Leverkusen.
